Clos Guirouilh Jurançon Petit Cuyalàa 2011

The Petit Cuyalàa is made from 100% Petit Manseng sourced from 25 to 60 year old vines at a specific site called “Clos Guirouilh.” This terraced vineyard is covered in layers of clay calcareous and sandstone. The grapes were manually harvested in successive passes from November through mid-December.

  • Site: Clos Guirouilh

  • Grapes: Petit Manseng

  • Vine Age: 25–60 years

  • Soil: Clay calcareous and sandstone

  • Farming: Ecologic

  • Vinification: Only the most withered, concentrated grapes were harvested resulting in a very long and slow pressing being needed to extract the juice. Slow fermentation in new and 1-year-old barrels lasted until the following spring. The wine was then aged for two years in the same barrels. 98 g/L residual sugar.
