La Cigarrera Amontillado 1L

This Amontillado is a minimum of 6 years old. Produced from the palomino grape variety, it is fortified with the addition of vinous alcohol up to 17%. It spends the first four years of its élevage under flor and a further two years aging oxidatively. La Cigarrera is produced exclusively from vineyards in the Jerez Superior Denomination of Origin. They are located in the original bodega from 1891 in the Plaza Madre de Dios in the Barrio Bajo (lower part) subzone of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, possessing some of the oldest casks in town.

The next evolution in our exploration of Sherry brings one-liter formats of three key Sherry styles from the highly respected almacenista house of La Cigarrera. The vision of the project is simple: if the quality of cocktail ingredients matter, then the quality and authenticity of Sherry in bar programs must be better.

Our liter Sherry program combines two qualities that have been previously missing from the mixology landscape: quality, small-batch ingredients at a profitable cost-per-ounce price. The liter format is ideal for innovative and quality-minded mixologists and bar programs, as well as high-volume restaurants with a focus on Sherry by the glass. These attributes, combined with the ease of use of liter bottles and reduction in waste, adds value in every category.

Intense and fine with fruit notes of orange peel, golden raisins intermingling with saline and balsamic notes. Almonds, walnuts, and light herbal notes throughout. Finishes long and fine.

The umami mid-palate of La Cigarrera Amontillado is a cocktail jack-of-all-trades, pairing well with sweet vermouth, whisky, Jacoulot Le Petit Marc, Crème de Framboise, and agave distillates.

La Cigarrera Amontillado should be served at European room temperature (68°F) or makes for an excellent mixing ingredient. This largeformat bottle is ideal for cocktail programs.
