What’s in a Name
De Maison
“De Maison” is the family name of founder André Tamers, with roots in the Haute-Savoie region of France. In honor of his French mother, André Tamers decided to name the company after her to carry on the family name. Her father had three daughters, and the name De Maison was destined to disappear, which inspired the idea to preserve the continuity of the De Maison family name through this family business.
Selections
The word “selections” is intentionally used, as all products are selected through extensive exploration, research, and on-site visits that establish connections with each production partner. These exceptional partners have all been carefully vetted before being considered for addition to the portfolio. No producer is added without this extensive process. The reason is simple: this is what the word “selections” means to us; it is the value a merchant brings by verifying that each and every producer and product fits, in its own place, within the De Maison Selections portfolio.

Pour, Don’t Sip
Pass The Porrón
A porrón is a traditional vessel from Spain, used to pour wine (or whatever you want, really) straight into one’s mouth from its glass spout. It’s simple: tilt, aim, and pour. Traditionally passed between parched workers in Spain’s sun-soaked vineyards as a convenient alternative to carrying around multiple glasses, the porrón also happens to be our logo, emblematic of the sharing of good drink with good company—something we strongly encourage, at all times. The porrón represents conviviality and togetherness, enjoying the finer things, but eschewing pretension. It’s all about welcoming and inclusivity.
