La Comarcal
Venta del Moro | Valencia

La Comarcal is a small project from Javi Revert and Victor Marqués, two of eastern Spain’s most talented winemakers.
Introducing the Estate
Vibrant Valencia
Tucked high in the mountains outside Valencia, La Comarcal makes delicious new expressions of the mountainous vineyards of the village of Venta del Moro. From researching the best locations to replant native varieties to replace the once-dominant international varieties to working with traditional mixed-agriculture farming and planting trees, Javi and Victor are lifelong students of their natural environment with the winemaking experience to make a significant impact in their region.

History & Origins
A Quest for Quality
During the 20th century, many people replaced Valencia’s traditional grape varieties with international grapes, focusing on quantity over quality. Luckily, a new generation is focusing on recovering what was lost, farming sustainably and maximizing quality while retaining the approachability and relaxed attitude of the Mediterranean.
Javi and Victor met while working together at the influential Valencian winery Celler del Roure. Since then, they’ve been constantly exploring their region, searching for unique plots of land with stories to tell. Once they find them, they replant them with the right indigenous grape varieties for the specific plot, and begin farming with traditional Valencian methods, focusing on sustainability over all.
