Domaine des Garriguettes

Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne | Rhône Valley

France

A pioneering biodynamic family domaine in Châteauneuf‑de‑Gadagne crafting energetic, culture‑rooted Rhône wines with remarkable freshness, elegance, and old‑vine character.

Where Tradition Breathes

Domaine des Garriguettes is a four‑generation family estate in Châteauneuf‑de‑Gadagne, where vigneron Sébastien Clément crafts fresh, expressive wines rooted in natural, regenerative, and Demeter‑certified biodynamic farming. Set just east of Avignon in the Southern Rhône, the domaine draws on old vines, Provençal traditions, and a deep commitment to preserving Occitan culture to produce wines of striking elegance and vitality.

Four Generations of Provençal Soul

Domaine des Garriguettes traces its roots to the Provençal village of Châteauneuf‑de‑Gadagne, where the Clément family has farmed and made wine for four generations. The estate’s identity is shaped by its deep connection to place: vineyards once belonging to the historic Gadagne Castle, old olive trees interplanted with cinsault, grenache, syrah, and mourvèdre, and a landscape shaped by the Mediterranean climate and the southern Mistral.

The domain utilizes strictly natural and regenerative farming practices and produces Demeter‑certified biodynamic wines from old vines. Today it is led by Sébastien Clément whose mission is to translate and propagate their region’s culture into the next generation.

The Vigneron Behind Garriguettes

Sébastien Clément is the fourth‑generation vigneron guiding Domaine des Garriguettes, shaped from childhood by the hands‑on mentorship of his grandfather Jean Clément and his father, Jean‑Louis. After gaining experience in other wineries, he returned home with a renewed vision that blends family heritage, cultural stewardship, and a deep ecological ethic. He was raised in the family winery and inherited his passion for wine from his grandfather Jean Clément, and his father, Jean Louis.  Today, Sébastien leads the domaine with intuitive, low‑intervention winemaking and a commitment to regenerative and biodynamic farming, channeling both Provençal tradition and forward‑thinking energy into every cuvée.

Crafting Purity

At Domaine des Garriguettes, Sébastien Clément unites an intuitive, low‑intervention winemaking style with a deeply rooted ecological and cultural philosophy, treating each cuvée as an individual expression of place. In the cellar, he works with the least amount of intervention possible, relying on indigenous yeasts, spontaneous fermentations, and minimal or no added sulfur to preserve purity and energy in the wines. In the vineyards, the estate’s ethos is grounded in stewardship: all parcels are certified organic and biodynamic, reflecting a commitment to progressive regenerative and biodynamic farming methods, as well as natural winemaking techniques. This holistic approach, honoring both the land and the Occitan heritage that shapes it, guides every decision from soil to bottle, resulting in wines that are vibrant, expressive, and culturally resonant.

Domaine des Garriguettes Côtes du Rhône ‘Le Béret Bleu’ 2023

Red – Rhône Valley, France
Le Béret Bleu Côtes du Rhône Rouge, an unbelievably juicy and fresh small-production wine from 100% cinsault, vinified in a cement tank. The label features an illustration of Sébastien’s grandfather, Jean Clément, as a tribute to the easy-going nature and Provençal spirit of the wines his grandfather made. Without a doubt, Le Béret Bleu is one of the most surprisingly delicious glou-glou wines from the Côtes du Rhône discipline. The wine is just plain fun to drink and we just cannot get enough of this small-production wonder.
