What's New in April
Txotx! Grab a glass of cider because Isastegi Sagardo is here. Every spring in the Basque Country the release of the new cider vintage is celebrated with a txotx, a party where everyone in the area gathers for a celebration of cider and food. Unfortunately it's difficult to travel all the way to Spain for this annual event and so that's why this year we're celebrating the txotx right here at home. Now that the Isastegi is here it's time to pop open a few bottles, fire up the grill, and kick back at our own Backyard Txotx.
Steaks are on the menu. The traditional txotx features grilled steaks for dinner so how fitting that steaks are the perfect thing to cook out in your backyard. But there's no reason to stop there. The acidity and crisp freshness of Isastegi is the perfect compliment to all types of grilled meats and vegetables. Cider marinated chicken, grilled sweet potatoes, and all the fixins; throw in some good friends and a bottle of cider and you've got a party. We'll see you there.
Our 2009 Cocktail Contest is underway. We want your original Sherry Cocktail recipes, please email them to us. The winner will receive a hand painted porron from this year's guest artist: Mike Jakob of the Elliot Street Deli & Pub in Atlanta, Georgia.
