Viña Mein 2014 Harvest
In Ribeiro, the 2014 vintage will be remembered for rain. It was all rain throughout the winter, then after a brief respite in early spring, it back to constant rain, sometimes heavy. Throughout the summer it was cool and humid, which meant a lot of difficult, arduous work in the vineyards. In the end a severe selection process was the key to bringing in healthy, balanced, and ripe fruit.
With a new team helping out at Viña Mein this year, the main changes were a more intense grape selection, a less interventionist process in the winery, and vinifying different and grape varieties parcels separately, in order to bring out the distinct characteristics of each parcel better.
