Uriondo 2013 Harvest
Regarding the climate this year, the most notable fact is that the end of the winter and the spring were extremely wet, and it rained nearly daily during that time. Temperatures remained cool into the early summer, including during bud break and flowering, which had an effect on the quantity of the harvest. After the solstice, the weather became more standard for the season, with warmer temperatures and little rain, and this lasted through the month of September.
Harvest occurred at the end of September, about 10 days later than normal. The quantity was lesser than the previous year, but still above average.
All of this bodes well for the quality of the vintage, and this notion is checking out in the characteristics of the fermenting must.
