Torre del Conde de Hervías 2011
The second label of Conde de Hervías, the Torre del Conde de Hervías is only made in the years when the flagship Conde de Hervías is not made. Sourced from low-yielding vineyards and aged in both French and American oak, this is a modern yet classically styled Rioja.
Vinification Fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and then aged for 12 month in new and 1-year-old French and American oak.
Tasting Notes Intense red with aromas of tobacco, vanilla and truffle. A smooth start leads to a surprising forcefulness on the palate. The wine exhibits an incredible synergy of alcohol, acidity and tannins characteristic of the village of Torremontalvo.
