Conde de Hervías 2009

Conde de Hervias

Íñigo only makes the Conde de Hervías in the best vintages, in minimal quantities. Las Arenillas is one of the most famous pre-phylloxera sites in Rioja, with vines planted on their original rootstock in 1864.

Vinification Fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and then aged for 16 months in new French oak.

Tasting Notes Seamless and regal, with lovely floral undertones mingling with spices from the oak. Flavors are of ripe blackberries, black truffle, and rose petals. The palate is velvety, surprisingly delicate and lengthy with an epic, cinematic finish. Undeniably one of the greatest Rioja wines made. Approachable now, or for the next 20 years.
