Nicolas Badel Saint-Joseph 2013
Nicolas Badel has been working his Saint-Joseph vineyards near the town of Limony since 1999 but sold his wine to the local coop until his first vintage in 2010.
Vinification The wine is fermented in cement vats and then aged in old barrels.
Tasting Notes This a wine of balance: on the one hand there is tremendous freshness, the other plenty of warmth and spice. On the nose, notes of blackberries, olives, and sage come out along with meaty aromas. In the mouth, the tannins are present but fine, giving the wine great grip.
Recommended Pairings Grilled chicken, grilled sausages, tapenade, vegetable tian.
