Marcel Couturier 2015 Harvest
2015 was rainy until April, then a warm spring permitted healthy budbreak and flowering. The summer was exceptionally dry; this was not a problem for most of the vines, except some of the young vines that do not yet have deep roots. The lack of rain meant that very little plowing was needed: only 3 passages instead of the normal 6. It also meant almost no problems with diseases.
Harvest started early, on August 29th, and went through September 10th. Yields were rather modest. But the grapes were in perfect health and very ripe because of the heat, with potential alcohol levels at 13-14%.
