Garciarevalo 2015 Harvest
Castilla can be a harsh place place to make wine. The 2015 vintage at Garciarevalo was marked by a drop in yields, due principally to a lack of rain: there was very little in autumn 2014, and basically none in spring and summer. On top of this, a number of the vineyard sites were affected by frost: on May 20th, the temperature dropped to 28°F!
On the plus side, the grapes that did get harvested were of great quality and ripeness: alcohol levels will be between 12.5 and 13%, with tartaric acid between 7 and 8.
So all in all, 2015 is a short but very qualitative vintage.
